About Me
My path to this work is deeply personal. As a classroom teacher and tutor, I often saw how hard reading could be for some students, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that it became my family’s struggle too. When I tried to teach my own dyslexic son to read—even with Orton-Gillingham training—I felt overwhelmed and defeated.
That experience lit a fire in me. I refused to accept that families had to go through so much pain just to help a child learn to read. I became relentless in my search for better tools, pursuing training in EBLI and other evidence-based approaches that are more efficient, effective, and empowering.
Today, that journey shapes everything I do at Monkeypod Education. I support students directly, walk alongside parents, and coach educators—so no family has to face the same struggles alone.
With a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Cornell University and a Master’s in Elementary Education, I bring over two decades of experience as a classroom teacher, learning specialist, and literacy interventionist. My professional training spans a wide range of evidence-based programs—including EBLI, Reading Simplified, Lively Letters and Think SRSD—which allows me to match the right approach to each learner’s needs.
